The exercise is performed by pushing your back on the wall and placing yourself in a position similar to one you would be in as if you are sat on a dining chair. This position is held for exactly 30 seconds. This is counted as one set.
Get yourself a sturdy object that you can safely step onto such as a small stool or block of wood. Ideally you should find something that gives a step that is as high as your mid shin level. Now step up with one foot onto it and then join with the other foot. Then step down and with your next step use the opposing foot first. This is continued in a rotating pattern, alternating between the initiating foot.
Lie flat on your back with your knees up in the air. Then place your hands behind your head and sit up aiming your left elbow at your right knee. The next time sit up again but alternate and aim your right elbow to your left knee and continue in this switching pattern.
We all remember this one from school gym class. Stand upright and put your feet together and your hands at your side. Raise your hands to your side and up above your head, as you move your feet out to the side at the same time. Then bring your feet back and hands back to their starting position.
These exercises should be done in turn in 3 sets of 12 with a rest period of around 30 seconds between sets. The best way of doing this routing is to perform each exercise once and then repeating them all again until you have completed 3 sets of each.
