Later as your cardio improves you can run ten minutes and walk two minutes, after about a week at that pace, running every other day, you can probably eliminate the walking part.

You can also take up swimming as it is one of the best low impact workouts that works a majority of your body's muscles. Using your arms in the breast stroke really helps to target your chest area, so does the front crawl, although the crawl is physically more exhausting and maybe not as easy to try for someone just getting into swimming.
